'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2 spoilers: Alicia returns; TWD crossover not possible

Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) will be more mature when \"Fear the Walking Dead\" season 2 returns. | AMC

Horror drama series "Fear the Walking Dead" is on a midseason break and it won't be back until August. Fans who were caught in the cliffhanger are thrilled already to know more of what will happen in season 2. There's going to be a change that will happen specifically to Alycia Debnam-Carey's character, Alicia.

Showrunner Dave Erikson divulged to TVLine that Alicia will no longer be the same person as she was in the last episodes. She has been known to be the naïve and young girl who gave away critical information over the radio to a stranger which led to some people losing their lives. But when the half of the season returns, Alicia will be more mature and will come out as a different woman. It's still to be known whether her maturity will help her reconnect with her mother.

Meanwhile, fans are still looking forward to a crossover for "Fear the Walking Dead" and its main series, "The Walking Dead." Ever since the spin-off started, many wondered if the characters of both show will ever cross paths. Erikson finally gave his answer though. As noted in another report, Erikson said that crossover of the two shows is impossible for now.

One of the reasons is the geographical difference. The spin-off takes place in the West Coast while the main one started in the East Coast. Another reason is the timeline of the stories. "The Walking Dead" is moving forward to its seventh season. It would be hard for "Fear the Walking Dead" to catch up. Moreover, Erikson shared that the two shows have different stories; thus, going the crossover direction is far from possible for now.

A lot more is in store in the second half of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 so fans will have to stay tuned.
