The third-person shooter video game "Gears of War 4" is all set for release. But before it could make its way out, developer The Coalition and publisher Microsoft Studios teased some of its new features and modes ahead of its launch.

As detailed in a report by Windows Central, the latest title in the "Gears of War" franchise will be, once again, set in a violent world where survival is necessary. A new threat has surfaced, and it is called as The Swarm. The game will come with a fully co-operative campaign which follows the protagonist JD Fenix and his team.

Fans will also be delighted to know that the game will be reviving the player versus player (PvP) mode, which is described to be an upgraded and more brutal version of PvP in previous installments.

The Coalition also brought back the Horde mode, which is the co-operative player v.s. environment mode.

Dubbed as the Horde 3.0 mode, gamers will be allowed to form a team of five, and together, they will work to battle and defeat enemies and bosses. The mode features defensive fortifications from barriers which players can eventually access. Each successful level will also unlock permanent progression upgrades that will allow gamers to have their characters progress and acquire a roster of skills and unlockable features.

The Horde mode has been popular among "Gears of War" players, and some fans are delighted for its return.

Players will also be introduced to the Fabricator which is described by IGN as every player's best friend. It can become a one-stop shop for weapons, fortifications, and even for reviving allies. Moreover, it's also noted that the game now has series of classes that each of the five players can choose from prior to the start of the round.

"Gears of War 4" will be released on Oct. 11 and will be available exclusively for Xbox One and Windows 10.
