'Girl Meets World' season 3 spoilers, plot news: Riley and friends to be affected by changes and adjustments in high school

Big changes and even bigger adjustments will be the core of "Girl Meets World" season 3.

According to the writers of the Disney Channel hit series, the first half of the season will put Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis), Lucas (Peyton Meyer) and the rest of the gang on a emotional rollercoaster ride as they begin their life as high school students.

"Girl Meets World" writers have been updating fans via Twitter on the progress of the production. The latest they revealed is about the stories to expect in season 3 as the group explores high school.

"Season 3: 4 episodes adjust to high school, 4 episodes resolve the not triangle, 4 episodes adjust to each other. People will change people," the writers said on Twitter. One of the biggest takeaways here is the love triangle. The Riley-Lucas-Maya love triangle or "not triangle" as the writers referred to it will finally be resolved. The issue is one of the most exciting storylines in the previous season of "Girl Meets World" that fans have long wanted an answer to.

The issue was thought to be tied up in the season 2 finale, but it was left open for "Girl Meets World" season 3 to pick up, further keeping fans at the edge of their seats.

"Girl Meets World" creator Michael Jacobs has already promised to wrap up the issue in the next season so fans can look forward to getting a real answer this time.

"We will resolve it in a way that shows an answer to a much bigger question, which is, how do young people at this age perceive relationships? What is the value of them? And what are our friendships, really?" he told The Wrap.

Looking at the promo for "Girl Meets World" season 3, things aren't looking good for Team Lucas and Riley. In the clip, the former told the latter in front of their friends that she is "too much" for him and walked out.

Of course, there should be an explanation as to why Lucas acted that way towards Riley. But until "Girl Meets World" season 3 reaches this storyline, it will definitely worry the pairing's fans for a while.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 is expected to premiere on Disney Channel next month.
