'Girl Meets World' season 3 spoilers, plot news: Riley and the gang get their first taste of high school in new promo

Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), and their friends are officially high-schoolers in the first look promo for "Girl Meets World" season 3. As expected, the new landscape is nothing like middle school as new rules and bigger challenges await the gang.

As they stood in the middle of the crowded corridor of their new school, the group of friends held on to each other in order to not be blown away by the torrent of students dashing from side to side, but to no avail.

Maya and Riley promise each other to stick together no matter what in the "Girl Meets World" season 3 clip, but that alone seems to be impossible even in the literal sense, as the packed hallways already split them apart.

Meanwhile, Lucas (Peyton Meyer) and Zay (Amir Mitchell-Townes) seem to be overall excited about taking on high school. Of course, that's until they meet the bullies who act as the bosses of the hallways.

However, the biggest shocker of all in the "Girl Meets World" season 3 clip is Lucas and Riley. The voiceover warns that high school might change relationships, and it appears to be true for the two.

Although he appears like he's about to compliment Riley, Lucas says, "You are just too much for me," and walks out. However, as challenging as high school will be, Cory (Ben Savage), who happens to be a teacher there, will be around to help the crew.

Based on this clip, "Girl Meets World" season 3 will really be intense and exciting at the same time. There's a lot to expect in the new season of the Disney Channel hit, including a possible wedding scene and Savage taking on a role behind the scenes.

The actor took to Twitter to tease his directing stint in an episode of the new season titled "Girl Meets I Do." It is a mystery for now as to who will be exchanging vows in this episode.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 will premiere in June on Disney Channel in two parts titled "Girl Meets High School."
