Google Nexus 2016 release date, specs news update: Flagships expected to blow competition out of the water
The Google Nexus 2016 smartphones have been in the rumor mills for quite a while now and there are enough reports that point that they could win the flagship battle this year.
Reports about the Nexus 2016 should rack up as the handsets are expected to be released in less than two months. According to BGR, the pair of devices being made by HTC could be "flagship killers."

Now that Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon 821 processor, the successor of the Snapdragon 820 initially believed to be used on the Google Nexus 2016 devices, the site thinks that they will use the new chipset instead.
The Snapdragon 821 processor, clocked 2.4 GHz (faster than the 820 chipset's 2.1 GHz), will help the Google Nexus 2016 best even the most popular flagships from Samsung and HTC and many others.
However, it appears that the Google Nexus 2016 already has competition and that is the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe. ASUS made a last-minute tweak and replaced the Snapdragon 820 with the 821 following the announcement of the processor.
This variant of the said ASUS flagship will come with 6 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. The ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe will be the first device to be powered by the handset.
The Google Nexus 2016, should it go for the Snapdragon 821 processor, will have the said ASUS handset as its biggest competition. It's now up to HTC to make it stand out even more.
Meanwhile, last year's Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P were currently offered on discounted price, which is usually a sign that new versions of the device are on the way.
This makes sense since the Google Nexus 2016 smartphones by HTC codenamed Sailfish and Marlin are expected to be released next month along with the Android 7.0 Nougat.
