'Grand Theft Auto 6' release date news 2016: Game to be set in Seattle?

Rockstar Games' highly-anticipated game "Grand Theft Auto 6" or "GTA 6" continues to be a mystery to all the fans. Until now, there is no official word yet on when the game will come out or if it's even going to be released at all. Fans are still hoping though by holding on to the rumors and speculations going around.

The latest to hit the rumor mill is the possible setting of the game. Some reports suggest that "GTA 6" gamers could be driving around the streets of Seattle. Rumors are also rife that it could be bigger than the previous Los Santos and Blaine County maps. And even if Washington D.C. doesn't really fit the game's reputation of high crime rate and violence, Seattle can still be in the running to become the next "GTA" location.

None is confirmed for now but if it pushes through, it can potentially introduce a new storyline featuring Seattle's economic and geographical features. One speculated game plot is smuggling since the city has a major shipping port that connects North America to Asia.

On the other hand, other rumors suggest that the setting of the game could be in San Diego or London. The latter is said to have a higher chance given that the team working behind the game are British. If Rockstar Games decides to feature their hometown, they may introduce right-hand drive cars.

There are also rumors going around about "GTA 6" making an ambitious move which is featuring an entire world map or combining all of the maps in the series' past titles. It's very unlikely though since it's too big of a work for a single game.

As for the release date of "GTA 6," there still no word about it but it's predicted to come out sometime in 2018. It's based on the five-year timeline pattern that the game has followed since "GTA 4". However, it can potentially come as late as year 2020, which is the same year that Xbox 2 and PlayStation 5 are expected to be unveiled.
