'Grand Theft Auto 6' release date update 2016: New GTA game no show at E3 2016

One of the games that many had been looking forward to catching at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 is the "Grand Theft Auto 6." Unfortunately, the annual gaming event has concluded without any word from Rockstar Games regarding their sixth "GTA" installment.

As predicted by online rumors, "GTA 6" was not able to make it to E3 this year. The game is rumored to come out in the year 2018 so the outlet said it's less likely that it would make an appearance this early. Also, Rockstar has been focusing on releasing information regarding the updates for the "GTA 5" video game. The company is expected to announce a DLC as well as an online mode expansion for the last "GTA" installment.

Other reports stated that Rockstar Games is currently working on active projects which include "Grand Theft Auto Online" and the multiplayer aspect of "GTA 5." Many were looking forward to Rockstar's presentation at the event especially since the gaming studio's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, also previously mentioned that they will appear at E3 2016 in a "big way." It was immediately believed that what they have in store are "Red Dead Redemption 2" and "GTA 6."

But as it turns out, there's still a long way to go until the next sequel in the "GTA" series will be made possible. Rockstar Games may still be following the pattern of releasing games every five years. It was also revealed before that the company will not release games that are just one year apart from each other. They are particular with offering fans a quality game so they are taking their time in making sure that each game they produce will be a great gaming experience.

E3 2016 concluded on Thursday, June 16, and while "GTA" fans failed to see the unveiling of the anticipated "GTA" game, it's still early to say that there is nothing more to expect from Rockstar Games or Take-Two. Avid gamers will have to watch out for more updates.
