'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 spoilers news 2016: Owen disapproves of Nathan for Meredith

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 is still a long way to go. However, tidbits of information about the next season have started trickling in already.

Fans may remember from the last season that Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) hooked up with Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) after they opened up their selves to each other. There was undeniably a spark between them but it seems like the blissful feeling is not going to stay long.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Owen Hunt will not like the idea of Meredith and Nathan together in season 13. Kevin McKidd, who plays the character of Owen, dished this information himself.

"I don't think Owen is going to be happy about that," stated McKidd. "He's almost becoming an unofficial brother to Meredith. Derek (Patrick Dempsey) was his friend," he added.

He also mentioned about Riggs potentially being a bad omen to the people that Owen cares about. Owen's sister, Megan Hunt, was involved with Riggs before she was presumed to be dead. It seems like Owen is going to be the hindrance to the brewing romance of Nathan and Meredith.

But he's not alone with that because Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) is also going to cause some drama for the pair. The season 12 finale closed with Maggie telling Meredith that she really likes Nathan. She also thinks that he likes her back. Meredith was stunned with her sister's confession because she knows that Nathan is not into her sister at all.

Season 13 is also expected to deliver more of the storyline of April Kepner (Sarah Drew) and Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams). The two have just had a baby and it may pave the way for their reunion as husband and wife. But will a baby be able to patch things up in their marriage? What about Catherine Avery's (Debbie Allen) mother meddling? Fans can only hope that the best will turn out for April and Jackson.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will premiere on Sept. 22 on ABC.
