'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 spoilers, plot news: April and Jackson parent their first born together; Alex going to jail?

There are only a few more weeks left until "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 starts airing. While the previous season ended with so much drama and emotions, the upcoming new season is going to have some lightness to it. Although, the show would not get rid of the emotional drama that easily.

For starters, April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) will be going on a new journey. Their first born child has finally arrived, and the happiness they feel as new parents cannot be measured.

But as fans know, the two divorced prior to the arrival of their baby. Fans are expecting things to be complicated, but according to spoilers, there's going to be a shift in the atmosphere.

In an interview with executive producer Shonda Rhimes by Entertainment Weekly, she revealed that season 13 will be exploring the storyline of Jackson and April "in a much lighter way."

"They're going to really try to do this in a healthy way, and is that healthy way going to feel so healthy when they still have feelings for each other?" Rhimes said. This means that the two will most likely have better conversations now and less shouting at each other.

Williams also previously hinted that he is optimistic about Jackson and April's relationship. Although it may seem like the two won't get along each other, there's still a chance that they will work things out.

"They definitely have hope," said Williams, as noted in TVLine. "I think, as long as they're alive, they're going to have hope, because they care deeply about each other. I would be hard-pressed to ever say the slate is wiped completely clean [for them emotionally]."

Meanwhile, a big problem is brewing for Alex (Justin Chambers) in the upcoming season. After his brutal actions against Andrew in the last season, he is at risk of going to jail. He was clearly not thinking when he started beating Andrew to a bloody pulp over a misunderstanding with Jo (Camilla Luddington).

Spoilers suggest that Alex will be worried that he will be turned in to the authorities. But since Meredith is loyal to Alex, she may not immediately send him to the cops. However, it won't be long until everyone will find out that Alex almost killed Andrew just because he thought he was sleeping with Jo.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 premieres on Sept. 22 on ABC.
