'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 spoilers, plot news: Owen not on board Meredith-Riggs hookups

Riggs (Martin Henderson) and Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) hooking up will no longer be secret come "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.
Kevin McKidd, who plays the role of Owen in the series, revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that this secret is going to come out in the open next season.
If there's someone who is not going to like that idea, it is Owen himself. "I don't think Owen is going to be happy about that," the actor said.
"He's almost becoming an unofficial brother to Meredith. Derek was his friend. He'll be a bit territorial, to be honest," McKidd added, recalling what happened to last person that Riggs got close to.
Of course, that would be her sister, who is no more. Owen thinks that Meredith might share the same fate. "He might be being a little irrational when he finds out," he explained.
Things between Owen and Riggs have become better. The latter was even invited to the former's wedding. There were fewer to no brawls and lesser verbal jabs.
Henderson is pretty convinced that Owen and Riggs will finally reconcile in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13. However, it might not be the case once Owen learns what Riggs and Meredith have been doing.
Of course, Owen won't be the only one frowning upon the Meredith and Riggs romance. Maggie (Kelly McCreary) is not happy with what's going on.
Maggie had her eye on Riggs for a while, and was heartbroken to know that Meredith has been sleeping with him. She will continue to be upset come "Grey's Anatomy" season 13, another reason why Meredith might quit doing it with Riggs.
However, the two believe that there's nothing serious going on. Meredith chose him because she knew a relationship with someone like him will be impossible.
It is a mystery if this will be the case in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13, as fans believe that there's a chance it could lead to something more.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 premieres Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
