A still from the \"Grimm\" episode. \"The Beginning of the End\" | NBC

Sad news awaits all the fans of police procedural fantasy drama series "Grimm." NBC has announced that the show will end at season 6.

The cancellation also affected the number of episodes that will be coming when the show premieres next year. According to reports, instead of 22 episodes, the sixth season of "Grimm" will only have 13 episodes. This will be the first season where the episode number is cut, resulting to some of the fans expressing their despair and disappointment.

There are some who say that they already expected the finale to come so soon. Now, they are hoping that the protagonist of the series, Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), will have his happy ending. But will he end up with Adalind Schade (Claire Coffee) or Eve/Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch)? As revealed in a report, Nick will likely be with Adalind in the end.

Tulloch teased that Nick and her character may not end up together because Eve doesn't need a man. "From my point of view Eve doesn't need a man so if she ends up single or with someone else, then more power to her," Tulloch said in an interview with Showbiz Junkies. This is a big letdown for everyone who are betting on the Nick and Juliette love team.

Nonetheless, the story will move forward, and fans can expect a rollercoaster ride of plots in season 6. NBC's press release stated that the show will be returning to the small screen with Nick facing his foe, Capt. Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). He will be occupying the mayoral position in Portland and he is said to impose new law and order.

However, the changes he will be making is expected to bring chaos, and Nick will have to do everything in his power to protect his city as well as the people he loves.

The upcoming season may be the last but the cast promises that it will conclude with a bang.

"Grimm" season 6 will premiere on Jan. 6, 2017 on NBC.
