'GTA 6' release date news 2016: 'GTA 5' follow-up to see launch in 2018?; DLC coming up first?

Developer Rockstar Games is not ready to commit to "Grand Theft Auto 6" yet, at least not before churning out enough downloadable content (DLC) for "GTA 5."
Rockstar is reportedly working on a remake of the Liberty City from "GTA 4," using the current title's RAGE engine. GTA Forums users Spider-Vice and BlackScout, came across concept images from the said DLC made by Rockstar artist, Adrian Page.
It hasn't been confirmed yet what these images are really all about, but they, for sure, feature a much detailed version of Liberty City. Although they could be from a possible "GTA 5" DLC or even "GTA 6," IGN says that they might simply be a passion project or concept from scrapped plans.
However, some media outlets think that this may be the Liberty DLC that "GTA" fans have been waiting for. It is believed that this may be Rockstar fulfilling its vision from four years ago.
Back in 2012, former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies visualized a project (some presumed would be "GTA 6") involving "one big world containing all our cities [that] let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas."
Although he is no longer the company's head, following a not-so amicable parting, the idea of collecting all the maps featured in the "GTA" franchise into one big spectacle will definitely be a money-maker, albeit a monstrous task to fulfill.
Previous reports indicated that "GTA 6" will be the realization of Benzies' plans, making it a mammoth of a title. "GTA 5" is already massive and making "GTA 6" sort of a culmination of two decades of Rockstar's most compelling franchise is definitely something worth seeing.
However, it is believed that the still unresolved-lawsuit filed by Benzies to Rockstar after being ousted the company during his sabbatical is rendering anything he created for the company untouchable.
This might affect the development of "GTA 6" and the so-called "one big [GTA] world" might not happen after all. However, contrasting reports say that "GTA 6" is already in the works but is being saved up for a 2018 release.
At the moment, Rockstar appears to be focused on further expanding "GTA 5" and has just released another massive update called "Further Adventures in Finance and Felony."
