'GTA 6' release date, plot news 2016: 'GTA 5' sequel headed to London?
"Grand Theft Auto 6" is reportedly moving out of United States and into London, making the game the first in the long-running video game series to be set in a whole new location outside the US. Word is that the next installment in the GTA franchise will be making its way to stores in 2018.

Although there's no information at hand to corroborate this yet, "GTA" developer Rockstar Games has already stated in the past that the franchise isn't limited to American culture and locations.
Co-founder Dan Houser has already said that the "GTA" franchise is "not necessarily" limited to America. Although it is unclear when this vision will materialize or if it ever happens, reports say that "GTA 6" will be the perfect starting point.
Rockstar has already made an attempt to bring "GTA" to London. The studio released an expansion pack set in England's capital for the very first installment of the mega-popular franchise.
With the technology available now, "GTA 6" in a London setting will definitely look amazing. According to reports, the map in the game will be the biggest one in the history of the franchise.
However, it is important to note that although Houser has expressed Rockstar's interest in bringing "GTA" to America, the studio might be saving the London setting for something else.
"These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, set in London, whatever, but I don't know if it would be a GTA game," Houser told The Guardian back in 2013 when "GTA 5" was just taking off.
"I think there are plenty of great stories we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them – I just don't think it would be a GTA necessarily," he continued.
At the moment, Rockstar has not confirmed "GTA 6." According to rumors, the "GTA 5" sequel will be out by 2018 with a female protagonist as well.
