'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' release date news 2016: Newly launched concept art reveals monster villain
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is still months away from its release date, but some details about it have surfaced ahead of time to bring the hype up among fans.

Despite being careful to keep details about the film under wraps, director James Gunn treated fans to a sneak peek of the new villain. Gunn recently posted on his Twitter account a concept art featuring the core superhero team in super jetpacks ready to battle against a humungous alien with what seems to be horrible-looking tentacles attached to it.
The name of the slimy menace is not revealed in the main post, but a fan tweeted Gunn asking if the space beast has a name. Gunn replied that the monster villain is an Abilisk. The concept art was originally going to be first published in Empire Magazine, but followers of Gunn were the first ones to see it.
As noted, the concept art marks the reunion of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Drax (Dave Bautista). Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) is also in the scene. Although unlike the rest of the gang, he isn't facing the creature with a blazing gun. As to how powerful this squid-looking monster would be, its size and fierce face say it all. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out how the guardians of the galaxy will be able to defeat it.
Meanwhile, spoilers say that the heroes' hands will be full as the alien monster isn't the only one that they need to tackle. Other villains include Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki), who is seeking revenge against the team after bringing her down in the first film.
Star-Lord's father is also said to be appearing in the second installment of the movie franchise. Moreover, newcomers in the cast lineup include Pom Klementieff, Sylvester Stallone, and Kurt Russell.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will premiere on April 28, 2017 in the U.K. and May 5, 2017 in the U.S.
