'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' release date, spoilers news: Nebula's role in team further detailed

In "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Nebula (Karen Gillan) will switch sides. Although she will be fighting on the same side as her sister Gamora (Zoe Saldana), it will be far from a sweet, emotional reunion.
"You'll begin to get a glimpse of how terrible life must have been like to grow up with a crazy stepfather through Nebula," Saldana told IGN in reference to Thanos (Josh Brolin).
The actress added that Nebula remains to be the "resentful and bitter" sister she had way back, which is why in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," their relationship will be "volatile."
Although Gamora and Nebula disagree on a lot of things, there is something they agree on, which is the fact that Thanos is not the greatest stepfather.
"We're starting somewhere very crazy but appropriate given where we had ended things off in the first installment. So Thanos is definitely spoken about – not highly," Saldana said.
In the first film, Nebula was one of the individuals that thwarted the plans of the Guardians and worked for Thanos. It was previously rumored that she will have a change of heart in the sequel.
Nebula's union with the Guardians was cemented in the concept art released by director James Gunn for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."
It also featured first look at another new Guardian by the name Mantis as well as Yondu (Michael Rooker), the leader of the Ravagers in the first film.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will reveal the identity of Star-Lord's (Chris Pratt) father. It is rumored that the Quill patriarch will be played by actor Kurt Russell.
Meanwhile, more details about the "Guardians of the Galaxy" sequel will be revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con happening July 21 to 24.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be in cinemas May 5, 2017.
