There is still no announcement yet regarding the premiere of "House of Cards" season 5, but fans are already looking forward to what will happen next.

The previous season closed with Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) determined to get re-elected again while his wife Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) remain as the vice president. However, it seems like Claire is not on board with her ex-husband's plans because she has plotted her own and it does not include Frank being the president at all.

Rumors have it that season 5 will have Claire thirsty for more power. She will try to usurp Frank and get the highest position in the politics of the country. She will also be forming alliances with people who will really put a jeopardy to Frank's plans of running again as the president. Claire is all about getting what she wants so it is expected that it's going to be a bloody battle between the former husband and wife.

Some reports said that Claire is planning to have the president assassinated by none other than Frank's most trusted ally, Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly). However, if Kelly's words are to be believed, Doug will never betray Frank.

"You've never seen Doug turn on Frank," Kelly said in an interview with CNN. "We've never seen Frank turn on Doug. And they trust each other to the ends of the Earth so that's where Doug belongs."

Considering such loyalty between the two, Claire's plans of murdering Frank may be done all by herself then. She may have to plot on her own. However, word has it that Frank will be controlling his ex-wife's actions by declaring martial law.

Suspending of ordinary law while he is still the most powerful man could be the only way for Frank to be able to handle the situation with Claire. However, nothing is certain yet so it's best to take reports with a pinch of salt.

"House of Cards" season 5 is expected to return to Netflix sometime in 2017.
