'House of Cards' season 5 plot news: Claire to con the most shrewd man she knows?
Claire's (Robin Wright) true colors will reportedly be revealed in "House of Cards" season 5 as she makes her bid to replace her husband Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) as the President of the United States.
According to reports, Claire is as twisted, if not much worse than Frank is when it comes to power. This baleful side of the former First Lady is expected to be shown in the new season of "House of Cards."
When season 4 ended, Claire went from being the First Lady to Vice President of the United States. However, this is apparently just the beginning of Claire's rise to power.
It is being said that in "House of Cards" season 5, Claire will find a way to get Frank out of the way to fulfill her plans to be the next president of the United States.
Being a Vice President will be easier for her to get to the position. Last season, fans watched her talk Frank into giving her the second to the highest position in the state.
If Claire is up to good, she either just outsmarted the con king himself. But if Frank hasn't lost his touch, he should have a trick or two up his sleeve that he will deploy when things go out of hand.
Meanwhile, there is also a rumor going around about Claire not having the need to do anything rash or violent to get Frank out of the post. Tom Hammerschmidt (Boris McGiver) who wrote a destructive article about Frank has already done it for her and the repercussions should hit Frank like a bus in "House of Cards" season 5.
If Claire has really decided to leave Frank's side, the calculating politician is not all alone as he has his trusty right-hand man Doug (Michael Kelly), who has sworn to protect him at all costs.
"House of Cards" season 7 is expected to premiere early next year.
