Hewlett-Packard (HP) has announced another model in their Chromebook lineup. This time around it's called as the HP Chromebook 11 G5 and its specs and features are promising for an 11-inch laptop.

According to its official website, the new laptop is a reboot version of the Chromebook. It will still be a cloud-centric device that connects to the internet and runs with Google's Chrome operating system. It has also been given a change in the chassis design and is now slimmer and has a narrower bezel display. Also, compared to its predecessors, the 11 G5 is lighter with its 12.5 lbs. weight.

The gadget is also budget-friendly. Its starting price is just $169. A report noted though that it can go up as much as $269 for its upgraded version, which has a touchscreen display. The 11 G5 is the first in HP's 11.6 inches diagonal Chromebook series to ever feature a touchscreen option. This is in line with the addition of the many touch-enabled Chrome and Android applications in the Google Play Store that will be coming along with Google's next Chrome OS update.

On the other hand, Android Headlines reported that the laptop will be equipped with the Intel Celeron N3060 processor and Intel's HD Graphics 400. It's also said to have a battery capacity of 43.7Wh. The company claims that the power can last up to 12.5 hours for the non-touchscreen and 11 hours for the touchscreen variant.

Aside from that, the upcoming 11 G5 is said to have an HDMI out, a 3.5mm audio jack, an SD card reader and two USB 3.1 ports. The touchscreen version will also be protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass NBT, which is said to decrease reflection and to help prevent damage to the screen whenever swiping or tapping.

The HP Chromebook 11 G5 is expected to be released sometime in October.
