HTC One M10 release date, specs news: Rebranded as the HTC 10 with 3 storage options?

HTC One M9 | HTC One M9

It seems that with all the talk and rumors about the HTC One M10, no-one predicted that it would be released under a different name. That speculation came from Evan Blass, an American blogger who has been known as a prominent phone leaker in the past.

According to Blass on his Twitter post, HTC will apparently change their new flagship from HTC M10 to HTC 10. Along with this bold prediction, the leaker has also revealed the upcoming smartphone's specs and even posted a picture of what the gadget would look like when it comes out in the market.

The HTC 10 image looks similar to that of its predecessors; however, nobody can miss the chamfered edges of the phone as well as the home button for the rumored fingerprint scanner. Fans can also see the rear of the HTC 10, which shows the camera with UltraPixel technology. It is said to be twice as large as the regular smartphone cameras. HTC claims that this new innovation is perfect for low light shots. The leaker's image also shows a dual-LED flash on its camera.

HTC M10 is expected to carry a 5.1-inch screen with a 2,560 x 1,440 quad-HD AMOLED display. It will also have an impressive Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor under the hood with 4 GB of RAM for better performance. The device will allegedly come out with multiple storage options; 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. All versions will have a micro SD expansion slot for more storage capacity. Lastly, it will be pre-loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow software.

So is Blass right? It is important to point out that the news is nothing more than speculation and rumor at this point, however, the respected leaker has often been accurate when it comes to providing information about new releases, which could give some validation to the predictions.
