The sequel to NetherRealm's "Injustice: Gods Among Us" is getting an ever-expanding roster, but that doesn't mean that they won't be bringing back any of the classics. A new trailer for the game, which is expected to land in 2017, showcases Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn and Deadshot.

Harley has been part of the character roster since the first game, but it seems like she may have some new tricks up her sleeves. Deadshot had a cameo in the first game but was not playable until the mobile app. "Injustice 2" will see him as a more prominent character.

As of now, Harley and Deadshot — a.k.a. Floyd Lawton — are at the peak of their popularity with David Ayer's "Suicide Squad" releasing earlier this August. What's more is that the trailer shows their starting costume is quite similar to the ones in the movie. "Suicide Squad" sees the first time that the two have ever been put into live action, and the characterizations of Margot Robbie and Will Smith have been getting the most praise from an otherwise divisive movie.

One can say that the "Injustice" series has been heavy with characters from the Batman rogues gallery, but then again, Batman villains are said to be the most colorful. Aside from Harley and Floyd, the likes of the Joker, Solomon Grundy, and Catwoman are prominent fighters in the "Injustice" roster. It's not that far off to imagine that the series could include the likes of Mr. Freeze, Two-face, or Poison Ivy.

"Injustice 2" will also be rife with villains from other heroes aside from Batman. The game will be seeing the first playable version of Flash villain Gorilla Grodd and Atrocitus, leader of the Red Lantern Corps. Villains like Lex Luthor and Sinestro are also present in the series.

Aside from villains, the game will also have new hero characters for gamers to get their hands on. "Injustice 2" will see the likes of Blue Beetle, Supergirl, and Jason Todd's Red Hood will be playable when the game comes out.

"Injustice 2" is set to be released sometime next year.
