Fans are quite pleased that the development team of Netherrealm's "Injustice 2" takes some of their time to listen to fan concerns and opinions. A recent Twitter poll has asked which characters the fans would like to see in the upcoming game, and the character of The Red Hood seems to be the top of that vote.

Ed Boon, director of Netherrealm studios, also posted a poll asking which incarnation of Red Hood the fans want to become playable, and the fans seem to be leaning more toward Jason Todd's Red Hood.

To fans who are unfamiliar with the lore, the Red Hood was actually a persona taken on by both the Joker and Jason Todd.

Before he was the green-haired albino clown, the Joker was the Red Hood. In Alan Moore's "The Killing Joke," the Red Hood served as a decoy for a gang in Gotham City. The Joker was just a man who needed the extra money, and on the night of the heist, he was forced to wear the Red Hood garb. That night, he fell into a vat of chemicals that turned him into the psychotic villain that he is today.

On the other hand, Jason Todd was the new Robin after Dick Grayson became Nightwing. Fans will remember that his demise was one of the most brutal deaths in comics as he was beaten to death by a smiling Joker. He was then brought back from the dead and then took on the Red Hood persona.

Making Jason Todd the Red Hood would give way to a totally new character in the game. If the Red Hood was Joker, it would only come out as an alternate costume because the Joker is already a playable character in the game.

While some fans are more eager to have a Red Hood that was the Joker, it looks like Jason Todd wins the trophy for being a new playable character.

"Injustice 2" is set to come out in March of next year.
