'iZombie' season 3 air date, spoilers news 2016: To introduce exclusive bar for the undead; Ravi makes medical discovery

There's still a long way to go before fans will get to see new episodes of "iZombie." The television series is returning to the small screen for its third season but not until midseason next year.

According to reports, instead of airing this fall, "iZombie" season 3 will kick off in 2017. Despite the long wait, fans are already getting their share of treats with some spoilers and updates on what's coming to the show on its third installment.

For starters, Entertainment Weekly divulged that there's going to be a new hangout place for Liv (Rose McIver) and the zombie gang. Due to the alarming increase in the number of Zombies in Seattle, a new pub will be raised up underground. It's said to be an exclusive place for zombies, and it's called as the Scratching Post.

"We originally named the establishment Coldcock's, but apparently that's the name of a brand of booze, so we settled on our second choice, The Scratching Post," explained showrunner Rob Thomas. "It's a speakeasy where one needs to be able to eat a ghost pepper without flinching to be allowed in, but once inside, brains and hot sauces from around the world are available for the discriminating zombie," he further described.

And who could be responsible for the development of the pub? It's most likely going to be Vivian (Andrea Savage), whom Liv met during the season 2 finale. The CEO of Fillmore Graves told Liv that she is planning to make Seattle the capital of the zombie homeland.

It's still to be known if Liv will join in Vivian's bandwagon of making her vision come to reality. This means that season 3 will be packed with episodes showing Liv confused and torn between team zombie and team humanity. Fans hope that Ravi (Rahul Kohli) will find a cure soon so that Liv wouldn't have to make a choice.

That's still far from happening, though, as finding the cure would mean the end of the show. But spoilers reveal that Ravi will discover something else while doing some experiments. He will come across a recipe that will make zombie visions clearer and longer. Will Ravi's new medical discovery bring help?
