'Jessica Jones' season 2 spoilers, plot news: Dead Kilgrave will continue to haunt superhero

Kilgrave (David Tennant) may now be six feet under, but the atrocities he did will still resonate in "Jessica Jones" season 2. Even from the grave, the mind-controlling psychopath will be able to mess with the life of his super-powered ex-girlfriend.
Spoiler Alert! This article contains details about the "Jessica Jones" season 1 finale. Those who haven't watched it are advised to turn away now.
Using his mind control power, Kilgrave raped and assaulted Jessica (Krysten Ritter). Before he could do more harm, she was forced to kill him, something that won't sit well with the hero in "Jessica Jones" season 2.
"She took a life, and that's so counter to who she is," showrunner Melissa Rosenberg told the audience of Vulture Festival via Indiewire. "I don't think all that trauma and PTSD goes away now that she kills him," Ritter added.
Although there's pressure to introduce another villain in "Jessica Jones" season 2 that will top Kilgrave following Tennant's acclaimed portrayal of the character, Rosenberg isn't worried about the expectations.
The showrunner explains that "Jessica Jones" isn't a show where the antagonists are other people or evil forces who want to take over the city or destroy the world.
"For this show, for this character, the 'big bad' is all about how personal it is to her," Rosenberg explained via Huffington Post. So whatever we do just has to be intimate or personal in a way. Not necessarily the history or such, but just connected directly," she added.
In "Jessica Jones" season 2, Rosenberg plans to take a step back from the titular superhero and explore the supporting characters. She is just starting work on the new season, but she already has ideas on who she wants to give focus on.
Rosenberg told International Business Times that she wants all these minor characters' back stories to be explored, but not as much as the story of Malcolm (Eka Darville).
"He was an essential part of the story for Jessica's character, but I look forward to diving deeper into his backstory, his flaws, all the stuff about him. He's a wonderful actor too," she explained.
"Jessica Jones" season 2 has no release date yet but is rumored to be delayed to 2017.
