'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 spoilers and cast news 2016: New mission coming
Action-adventure superhero TV series "Legends of Tomorrow" wrapped up its season one with a successful ending as the initial mission was accomplished. The team of heroes were able to defeat their main villain, Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), and they were introduced to new hero, Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams), who is also known as the Hourman.

So what's in store next in "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2? Reports reveal that the second installment of the show will be something that fans can look forward to as it's going to be jam-packed with action, new heroes, new stories, new missions and a new villain to deal with.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Marc Guggenheim said that the final episode of the first season paved way for the new mission of the heroes.
"In many ways, the season finale of season 1 set up the new mission statement for season 2. Like Rip says at the end of the season finale, there basically are no more Time Masters. We basically have to be the Time Masters," Guggenheim revealed.
The Hollywood Reporter also noted that Hourman's arrival to the series is very crucial to how season 2 will unfold as it basically beckoned a major change for the series. His teammates from the Justice Society of America will also be introduced.
For those who are not in the loop yet, the Justice Society is the superhero team in DC Comics. They were first introduced in 1940's "All Star Comics #3" and composed of characters like Sandman, Green Lantern, The Flash and more.
As for the cast who will be returning and coming in, reports confirmed that Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Nick Zano and Jay Garrick will be joining the show. They will play as Amaya Jiwe or Vixen, Nathan Heywood and the Flash of Earth-3, respectively. Returning actors include Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave, Caity Lotz as White Canary, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter and Brandon Routh as ATOM.
"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will premiere on Oct. 13 on The CW.
