LG V20 release date news 2016: Expected to arrive in September; handset as upgraded version of V10?

LG is likely to release a new device soon and it's dubbed as the V20. There is no specific date yet on when it might be out but it may be coming sooner than expected.

According to reports, the South Korean tech company may unveil the LG V20 sometime in September. The speculated schedule is a month earlier compared to the release of the device's predecessor, the LG V10, which officially came out in October 2015. The purported reason for the earlier release is because of the high competition.

LG will want to go early considering Apple may release its iPhone 7 in September also. Samsung is also expected to launch their Galaxy Note 7 by Aug. 2, which means in the next few months, consumers will be divided with the arrival of fresh smartphones. Apparently, LG's V20 will be sharing the spotlight if the company decides to push through with the rumored release date.

It seems like LG is fine with that, however, since it's better than releasing it at a later date which may turn out to be too late for the consumers. Reports suggest that LG would rather compete than be left out. The company is making some changes in their marketing plans in the hopes that they would be able to improve their market situation.

Currently, there is no information yet on the LG V20. Specs and features are well kept under wraps. But speculations suggest that the upcoming handset will be a big upgraded version of the LG V10.

For those who are not in the loop yet, the V10 comes with two touchscreens. There's a 5.7-inch primary display and a secondary 2.1-inch screen which functions as a display for features like the weather, time and date, and the battery status.

Another highlight of the device is the dual selfie cameras. They are both 5-megapixel cameras but the other one captures the standard 80 degree selfies while the other one is for wide-angle selfies. At the rear is a 16-megapixel camera. It also has a fingerprint sensor and runs with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor.
