As of now, fans of the show "Limitless" are sad to hear that the show has been cancelled, but there is still a glimmer of hope that the show may get renewed for a second season. Bradley Cooper, star of the movie "Limitless" of which the show is based on, is an executive producer for the show, and the show's future depends on the actions that he'll take following the show's cancellation.

According to FX News Call, all the actors of the main cast are still up for work on the series if ever the show gets a chance for a second season. Actors Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter, Hill Harper, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio are said to reprise their roles if Cooper and CBS ever come to an agreement. Aside from being one of the "Limitless'" showrunners, Cooper also has a recurring role in the series as Senator Morra.

The last episode of the first season had Brian (McDorman) and the CJC raiding the laboratory where NZT is made, and the episode also had Cooper's character Morra discovered to be missing.

The show has been having generally good ratings, but the ratings have not been high enough to get the show renewed for a second season. It is also said that the show's producers are currently shopping the show around to any networks that want to pick "Limitless" up from where it left off.

Netflix has been the go-to network for shows that want a revival ("Arrested Development," "Gilmore Girls"), but it is yet to be confirmed if the network will pick up "Limitless." Seeing as the show was one of the most popular titles for the 2015–2016 TV season, it might not have such a hard time getting picked up. It's just a matter of finding a network that needs something in the sci-fi comedy genre.

As of now, a release date for the second season of "Limitless" is unknown.
