'Longmire' Season 5 release date, plot news update: Katee Sackhoff shares sneak peek for upcoming season

The fifth season of the drama "Longmire" is coming this September, and though that date may come in a while, Katee Sackhoff has given fans a little sneak peek at what they can expect in the upcoming fifth season.
The picture was of Sackhoff alongside co-star Robert Taylor as they play their characters Vic and Walt Longmire (respectively). Reports say that the picture could show the growing cooperation when it comes to the two characters.
It is rumored that "Longmire" might end after the upcoming season. The show was originally broadcasted by A&E, and despite good ratings, the show was not catering to its intended demographic.
Fortunately, Netflix picked up the show for season 4, and now, fans are rejoicing at the fact that the series is going to get a fifth season. With Netflix, the showrunners were also given more freedom, and they were able to explore darker storylines and violence that were not permitted by A&E.
Although it is yet to be confirmed, "Longmire" producer John Coveny seems positive that the fifth season will not be the last and that fans can expect more of the show in the future. Apparently, envisions the show to last for 10 seasons. Though he has considered other factors, Coveny chooses to remain more optimistic about the show's future.
Fans are looking forward to seeing more of Walt and Vic together in season 5. They are also looking forward to other characters like Henry (Lou Diamond Phillips) being on the right side of the law. What they also want to see is a new villain that can rival the likes of Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez) and Barlow Connally (Gerald McRaney).
Fans can expect the fifth season of "Longmire" to debut on Netflix this Sept. 23.
