'Longmire' season 5 release date, spoilers: Filming complete, upcoming season won't be show's last

"Longmire" season 5 will premiere on Friday, Sept. 23, Netflix revealed. The announcement came almost two weeks after the production for the upcoming season wrapped up.
The cast and crew of the show have been sharing photos and selfies on social media to document the final days of the "Longmire" season 5 filming, which began around March.
Just like the previous season, "Longmire" season 5 has 10 episodes. However, they are slightly longer in duration so fans can enjoy more of Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and his exploits.
"Longmire" season 5 is expected to pick up from where the fourth season ended, which is with Walt and Dr. Donna Monaghan (Ally Walker) in an intimate moment.
Fans have been on the edge of their seats wondering who the unwanted guest is that ruined the special moment of the lovebirds.
However, there are rumors that the intruder might be involved with Donna and she might have led him there herself. Whether this is the case or not, fans won't have to wait that long for "Longmire" season 5.
Although new season of the hit series hasn't even started yet, there are already reports with regards to a sixth season, and if there will ever be one.
Just recently, star Katee Sackhoff clarified that "as of right now, there has been NO season 6 pickup. Fingers crossed" in response to a report that the show got renewed again.
Meanwhile, Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays the role of Henry Standing Bear, is certain that "Longmire" season 5 will not be the show's last.
"For some reason, some people have the mistaken assumption that [season 5] is our last. Not so," the actor tweeted to a fan who raised the question of the show being cancelled after "Longmire" season 5.
The next season of the series will not only bring back familiar faces but a new one as well in the person of actor Dylan Walsh, who will play the role of baddie Shane Muldoon.
