'Longmire' season 5 rumors, spoilers: Walt and Vic may reunite

American crime drama series "Longmire" is set to return to Netflix soon for its fifth season. The wait is still a month away, but little details about the upcoming installment have surfaced ahead of time.

According to reports, the fifth season of "Longmire" may potentially have Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) reunite with Vic Moretti (Katee Sackhoff). The two are expected to be together in the end since that was their fate together in Craig Johnson's book of the same title that the show is based on.

Followers of the show may recall in season 4 that he was with his love interest Dr. Donna Monaghan (Ally Walker). But rumors have it that the two will separate ways to pave the way for a love interest between Walt and Vic.

The previous season finale closed with Walt and Donna having an intimate time together. But it was interrupted when an intruder barged in. It's still to be known how things will unfold in the upcoming season. Will someone get hurt, or worse, will someone get killed?

Speculations are rife that Donna could get killed. And if she does, it's expected to be difficult for the sheriff since he already lost his wife before. But if the two do survive the ordeal, Donna and Walt could end their relationship in a different way. The point is that Vic and Walt could have a relationship beyond friendship in season 5, and that can only happen if Donna is out of the picture.

Some rumors suggest that there will be no happy ending for the two. It is said that Walt and Vic will grow closer in season 5 and will pursue a relationship together. It is also said that they may tie the knot. However, their bliss will be cut short with a tragedy. They are said to get in a car accident after their wedding.

Other speculations claim that Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Philipps) will be responsible for the demise of Walt. None of the details are official, though, so it's best to take reports with a pinch of salt.

The fifth season of "Longmire" will start airing on Sept. 23 on Netflix.
