A major retailer in the Middle East has reportedly removed Donald Trump products from its shelves following recent comments made by the 2016 presidential hopeful regarding Muslims in the U.S.

The Landmark company, which owns Lifestyle department stores in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, recently announced that it would be pulling the "Trump Home" line from its department stores following comments made by Donald Trump regarding Muslims in the U.S.

"In light of the recent statements made by the presidential candidate in the U.S. media, we have suspended sale of all products from the Trump Home décor range," CEO Sachin Mundhwa of Landmark said in a statement to Raw Story.

Trump has received widespread criticism for recently suggesting that the U.S. should ban all Muslims from entering the country following a recent mass shooting carried out by Islamic extremists at a Christmas party in San Bernardino, California.

"What I'm doing is no different than FDR," Trump recently said on ABC's "Good Morning America," referencing former president Franklin D. Roosevelt's use of internment camps following the attack on Pearl harbor.

"We have no choice but to do this," he said. "We have people that want to blow up our buildings, our cities. We have to figure out what's going on."

Several Republican leaders have spoken out against Trump's comments, with former Republican vice president Dick Cheney saying the real estate mogul's comments "go against everything we stand for and believe in."
