Microsoft Surface Phone release date news: Insane specs, modern design bared in two new leaks
Microsoft Surface Phone is still on the cards and the specs of the flagship being prepared by the tech giant in Redmond are top of the line, at least that's what the latest leaks are hinting at.
First spotted by Mobipicker, a leak from Chinese social media platform Weibo claims that the Microsoft smartphone will get three variants distinguished by the amount of RAM and storage they have.
The base model for the Microsoft Surface Phone offers 3 GB RAM paired with 32 GB internal storage. On premium flagships standards, this is already off the charts, but this is just the standard version of the device.
Next in line doubles that RAM to 6 GB and bumps up the storage to a monstrous 128 GB. The beastliest of the Microsoft Surface Phone models according to the leak has 8 GB RAM and a whopping 500 GB storage.
The authenticity of the leak is still open to discussion, and Mobipicker itself believes that the 500 GB Microsoft Surface Phone is a bit over the top. But if it can be done, it will definitely put the smartphone ahead of the competition, at least on the storage front.
The leak also claims that the Microsoft Surface Phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor and that the pricing will start at a little over $900.
On the other hand, there's a new leaked image (posted by a source that has provided accurate and legit tech information in the past) purportedly featuring the Microsoft Surface Phone, which came with a flip cover with built-in keyboard.
The device sported an overall sleek look and the body is believed to be metal or magnesium. The camera on the back is reportedly a 20-megapixel Carl Zeiss shooter.
The Microsoft Surface Phone on the photo, according to the source, has a 5.7-inch display with 2K resolution. A USB Type-C port is also intact.
The Microsoft flagship is expected to make a splash early next year.
