Although developer NetherRealms Studios has been focused on "Injustice 2," it hasn't forgotten about the "Mortal Kombat X: Kombat Pack 3" just yet.

Game creator Ed Boon said that the studio did not abandon Kombat Pack 3 because of the fighting game sequel. In fact, an appearance at the Evolution Championship Series 2016 may be in the offing.

Boon teased that the "Mortal Kombat X: Kombat Pack 3" will be showcased in the upcoming convention in a tweet where he wrote in capital letters the acronym of the event.

Last month, the downloadable content (DLC) was the highest-voted project that fans want NetherRealms to release. They were given the options "Mortal Kombat X" sequel and the "Shaolin Monk" sequel.

The launch of the Kombat Pack 3 at the EVO 2016 appears to be all but confirmed. This means that fans will get to learn more about the DLC next month.

The event takes place July 15 to 17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Mandalay Bay Events Center. "Mortal Kombat X" will be featured there along with other popular fighting games.

Kombat Packs usually add four characters to "Mortal Kombat X." The first two packs each featured two fighters from the "Mortal Kombat" universe and two others from other franchises.

The first Kombat Pack introduced Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" and Predator from the eponymous franchise. The "Mortal Kombat" natives included were Tanya and Tremor.

For Kombat Pack 2, "Mortal Kombat X" Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and Xenomorph from "Alien." Bo' Rai Cho and new "Mortal Kombat" character Tri-Borg were also added.

There's no word on who will make up the "Mortal Kombat X: Kombat Pack 3" and fans surely have their wish lists and favorites. However, it might be too late for requests now as the DLC will be shown next month already.
