Aside from that, Deadline reported that USA Network has upped its season 2 order for "Mr. Robot" from 10 to 12 episodes, which comes as no surprise given that the show won a Golden Globe and received much acclaim from fans and critics alike. All 12 episodes of the second season are said to be directed by creator Sam Esmail, and after the two-episode premiere on July 13, fans will be treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the hit drama.

Chris McCumber,  president of Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, talked about the show's success and told fans to expect the second season to up the ante this time.

"The first season of Mr. Robot was everything we hoped for – and then some," said McCumber. "So it's no surprise that Sam and team have raised the bar even more in season two. From the first moments of the new season, it'll be clear that audiences are in for something incredibly special and wholly unexpected."

To boost the hype for its highly anticipated second season, "Mr. Robot" has recently released a clip on its official Facebook page, sending fans into a frenzy. The clip recaps the first season's hack on E Corp and the chaos that followed, and then a masked member of fsociety appears, revealing himself to be Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström). As he ends his message, Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) executes what seems to be a mysterious code. Wellick, who is watching the act, says "It's almost as if something's come alive." The clip ends with Elliot grabbing some popcorn, as though teasing fans they're in for an even more suspenseful season.

"Mr. Robot" follows the story of Elliot, a cyber-security engineer turned hacker vigilante after he is recruited by fsociety, whose mysterious leader is the titular character, Mr. Robot.

Recent banners for the show have the tagline "Control is an Illusion," and the new season is expected to follow the aftermath of fsociety's hack on E Corp.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 premieres Wednesday, July 13 on USA.
