Netflix has officially announced the premiere date of "Narcos" season 2 in a teaser trailer featuring Wagner Moura as Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar.

This season of "Narcos" will feature the death of Escobar. The first season spanned 15 years of Escobar's life down to his incarceration, leaving season 2 with only 18 months of Escobar's life.

The death scene for "Narcos" season 2 has already been filmed, and it is of the most significant moments in the series that the cast and crew made sure will be done well.

"Escobar had a photographer who was with him and there are incredible photos taken by DEA agent Steve Murphy at the time of his death," executive producer Eric Newman told AFP.

"We've recreated the actual death scenario based on those pictures so it's as close as we can be," he guaranteed. "Narcos" season 2 ends the story of Escobar.

The involvement of the Los Pepes led by former employees of Escobar is expected to be featured in "Narcos" season 2 since their war with him indirectly led Escobar to his grave.

It is a mystery how the show will continue, but reports suggest that the story will focus on a new protagonist and will still continue stories about drugs.

According to series composer Pedro Bromfman, fans will meet new faces in "Narcos" season 2. He also teased that there will be more stories to tackle beyond Escobar's death.

"It just shifts places, but it keeps moving. As long as there [are] people buying drugs, there'll be bad guys trying to provide them and killing people and doing things," Bromfman told iDigital Times.

"Narcos" season 2 will be available for streaming on Netflix on Sept. 2. A third season is yet to be announced.
