'NBA 2K17' release date on PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 news: New features include league expansion; possibility of the Olympics

"NBA 2K17" has been confirmed to introduce new features like league expansion which will be available to the 2K series for the first time. Meanwhile, fans have speculated that the upcoming game will also feature the Olympics after carefully analyzing its new cover.
According to Sonic Rising, whenever a player starts a new MyGM or MyLeague mode in the game, they will be allowed to create up to six teams, or they can choose to create an entirely new league on their own. The game will feature ten pre-made expansion teams that come with their own uniforms, announcers, and courts. Some of the team names include Nashville Stars, Louisville Liberty, and San Diego Surf.
Fans have been asking about the Seattle Supersonics, but it is not yet clear if they will be a pre-made expansion in the game. The Supersonics were famously known as the 1996 team that made it to the NBA Finals, so it's only natural that fans would go looking for the classic team. Speaking of classic, the game also allows players to use "classic teams" in their expansion league.
In other news, some NBA fans who have taken a closer look at the game cover for "NBA 2K17" noticed that the cover athlete, Paul George, has a picture of him wearing his Team USA jersey from the Olympics.
With the Olympics coming up this August, it may not be a stretch for the game to possibly include even a little of the elements of the Olympics within the game. It will not be the first time if they did so. Back in "NBA 2K13," players could take control of the 2012 team when they played exhibition mode.
"NBA 2K17" will be available for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. It is expected to arrive on Sept. 20.
