'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 spoilers, plot news: Kensi and Deeks to tie the knot?

Action and police procedural series "NCIS: Los Angeles" will be moving forward to its season 8 when it returns to the small screen in October. And just as spoilers revealed, two characters will get engaged.

According to reports, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) will go one level higher in their relationship in the next season. Followers of the show have been waiting for an engagement between the characters for some time already and it seems like it's finally going to happen in the eighth installment.

Executive producer Scott Gemmill revealed this chunk of information to TV Guide a few months back. He said that there will be no engagement in season 7 because it will fall on season 8. He also divulged that they already have a plot on how it will happen.

"I already know how we're going to do it. It's just, the fans have waited long enough that we want it to be worth the wait," said Gemmill.

However, fans should not expect a baby to come so soon. Given that a wedding will be happening soon, many are wondering if Kensi and Deeks will take on the parental roles right after. But Gemmill said that they are taking things one at a time since they are not taking the storyline lightly.

Neither Deeks nor Kensi is willing to give up their career since both are career-driven characters. Having a baby is a big responsibility and it could mean that one of them should quit the risky job. Typically, Kensi is expected to be the one to give up her career.

But Gemmill admits that it's a tricky storyline and they need to discuss it thoroughly. Kensi shouldn't be obliged to quit her job but at the same time, they want to show that Kensi is a capable, nurturing individual. Will Kensi continue to be an asset in the NCIS team or will she give it up to start a family?

Fans will have to stay tuned to find out the answers. "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 will premiere on Oct. 2 on CBS.
