'No Man's Sky' release date news 2016: Game gone gold; size is 6 GB on disc

Action-adventure survival video game "No Man's Sky" is finally going to be released soon. The game has already experienced a lot of delays due to various reasons. But that is no longer the case now as the founder of Hello Games, Sean Murray, confirmed that the game is ready for release.

Murray revealed in a tweet last week that "No Man's Sky" just went gold. It means that the game is now all set in a disc and will be out by its scheduled release date. Fans who have been waiting for the game are thrilled already and at the same time glad that the journey of making the game has finally ended. "No Man's Sky" started in December 2013 at Spike's VGX awards.

Yet, the game's progress has already gone a long way. Murray shared that "No Man's Sky" has passed certification checks in Europe, America and Asia. He also revealed that they are currently working on having it submitted in Japan.

Aside from that, Murray said that gamers will not need to worry about the game size as it will not be taking much space. In response to questions on Twitter, Murray said that the game will only be just 6 GB on disc, and majority of it is audio. With regard to the update, it's not known yet how much space it will take up.

According to PC Gamer, Hello Games has been busy already with the first update. It's not revealed what the update would be but it's speculated to be a day-one patch or an entirely new stuff post-launch. A report stated that the download size of the game may be a large one as it may come with the core game and may feature the multiplayer mode.

Only a few weeks left for the fans to wait as "No Man's Sky" will be released on Aug. 8.
