'One Punch Man' season 2 release date, spoilers update: Manga creator begins production; Lord Boros to return in episode 1?
With almost half a year having passed since the first season of the popular anime series "One Punch Man" concluded in December, fans of the Japanese manga adaptation are eager to find out when the new season will begin airing.

While not much has been revealed about the anime since director Yusuke Murata first announced that he is working on making a second season a reality, a report from Hall of Fame magazine now claims that Murata and his team have already begun production on the anime's hotly anticipated second season.
According to the International Business Times, Murata, who created the original manga series, is collaborating with anime production house Madhouse Entertainment to produce the anime's second season. As the outlet reports, Murata and his team are working hard to finish the issues of the manga so that Madhouse can begin production as soon as possible.
Madhouse Entertainment has reportedly required Murata's team to develop 100 sketches, 100 storyboards, and 100 inked pages for the second season of "One Punch Man." IBT claims that Murata has complied with these requirements.
Reports claim that Murata will be working closely with Madhouse on the anime to ensure that it stays faithful to the manga storyline, ensuring that fans will be treated to the best possible adaptation of their beloved manga for the small screen.
Work on the second season of "One Punch Man" reportedly began in late 2015 and is currently ongoing. While neither Murata nor Madhouse Entertainment has dropped official word about the season 2 release date, it is expected that the new season will debut later this year.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the first episode of the second season could feature a battle between Saitama and Lord Boros. Boros, who was last seen going head-to-head with Saitama during the season 1 finale, lost an arm during that episode. However, it now appears that the defeated villain could somehow regain his powers and attempt to triumph over Saitama once again in season 2.
