OnePlus 3 release date, specs news: Will device live up to 'flagship killer' title?
OnePlus has been making a lot of buzz lately with its highly anticipated smartphone release, the OnePlus 3. Critics are starting to question the company's claim that their smartphone series is the "flagship killer." Nonetheless, fans are hoping that the new iteration will finally live up to expectations.
When the current OnePlus 2 was released in July last year, OnePlus dubbed it as a "flagship killer;" however, it failed miserably to deliver as it was expected to. Now that the company is gearing up for the release of its newest OnePlus 3 model, can it finally fulfill the "flagship killer" title?

OnePlus 3 has already appeared on the Antutu benchmark. Many fans believe that its impressive specs and affordability will certainly be appealing to the consumers. According to the reports, the new device will come with more advanced specs and features compared to its predecessor. It is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor, along with its 4 GB of RAM for optimal usage. It will also be carrying a 32 GB internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD.
What is interesting is that, OnePlus may install a much higher random access memory, Geek Snack. Rumor has it that the company is planning to put 6 GB of RAM to make sure the device will perform to its full capability.
The device is also said to carry a 5.5-inch AMOLED or OLED QuadHD display. There are also reports suggesting that it will have fingerprint sensor, water resistance technology, 3300 mAh battery, a full metal chassis. It will run on an Android Marshmallow operating system, which will be layered on Oxygen OS from OnePlus.
If rumors prove to be true, this will easily become the "flagship killer" they advertised it to be. It will be interesting how this device will par with the leading brands in the market today.
