'Orange is the New Black' season 5 air date, spoilers: Daya faces punishment; Yoga's prison story revealed

Comedy-drama web series "Orange is the New Black" will be returning to the small screen soon for its fifth season. But since it won't be out until next year, fans are relying on the spoilers and updates that have flooded the internet ahead of time.

According to reports, "Orange is the New Black" season 5 will be picking up after the events from the previous season finale. Fans may recall that season 4 ended with Dayanara "Daya" Diaz (Dascha Polanco) aiming a gun at correction officer Thomas Humphrey (Michael Torpey). She may not have shot him but she is still set to face punishment for the trouble she caused.

Her actions would require disciplinary action and it's more likely to result in her extended stay in Litchfield and her solitary confinement. Throughout the series, Daya never had it in her to behave violently until the incident happened. And now she is at risk of being treated harshly.

But there is still hope for her. Rumor has it that her child's father, Officer John Bennet (Matt McGorry), will make a comeback and save Daya from spending her life in the Security Housing Unit. Nothing is confirmed though, including the return of McGorry to the series, so it's best to take reports with a pinch of salt.

The fifth installment of the series is also said to have a shift in spotlight. More about Yoga Jones' (Constance Shulman) past life will be explored and details about how she got into prison will be known. The only detail that was revealed about Yoga was that she was convicted for murder. But who did she kill? How did she do it? Season 5 is expected to tell the audience more about that.

There are also story plots born out of speculation based on previous information. Since Yoga's family own a piece land where they grow weed, Yoga may have accidentally killed someone while high on the drug. Fans will have to stay tuned if the speculation is right.

"Orange is the New Black" season 5 will premiere sometime in 2017.
