'Orange is the New Black' season 5 release date news, plot spoilers: Another major character death to happen?

"Orange is the New Black" is not returning to the small screen until next year for its season 5. However, the rumor mill is packed with spoilers on what may possibly happen next after the events from the season 4 finale.

Fans may recall that before season 4 closed, Poussey Washington (Samira Wiley) was killed off despite being a main character. According to reports, another major character death is going to happen in "Orange is the New Black" season 5. There is no confirmation on it yet, but it is possible since it seems like the show is not afraid to bring demise to a vital character.

Speculated to be next in the death list is Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling). However, some fans disagree that Netflix will kill Piper since there is still a lot in her storyline that needs to be covered and explored. Poussey's death wasn't senseless at all, though, as it had a strong connection to Baxter Bayley's life.

Fans will have to stay tuned then to find out if Piper or any of the main characters will get killed in season 5. Meanwhile, followers of the series are wondering what will happen next to Daya Diaz (Dascha Polanco) in the prison. A riot erupted inside Litchfield Penitentiary and Daya is on the brink of pulling the trigger on Correctional Officer Thomas Humphrey (Michael Torpey).

Spoilers reveal that Daya will be sent to the Special Housing Unit (SPU) and things are going to be very difficult for her in the upcoming new episodes. Suffering from postpartum depression and with John Bennett (Matt McGorry) nowhere to be found, Daya is at the darkest time of her life.

Word has it, though, that John will be making a comeback to save Daya. It's also said that Lolly Whitehill (Lori Petty) will be back. Other stars returning for season 5 are Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren (Uzo Aduba), Galina "Red" Reznikov (Kate Mulgrew) and many more.

"Orange is the New Black" season 5 will premiere sometime in June 2017.
