'Persona 5' release date update: Demos, Q&A sessions, giveaways in store at E3 2016

Atlus has announced what fans of "Persona 5" can expect when the upcoming role-playing video game headlines its roster of offerings at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

Following the confirmation that "Persona 5" will indeed be at the upcoming E3 2016, Atlus has released new details about the activities it will be hosting at the much-awaited annual event.

According to a report from IGN, the game developer will have character designer Shigenori Soejima at the event to answer fan queries. Apart from Soejima, Atlus will also have other guests on stage to talk about "Persona 5," its features, and its design.

According to Gematsu, Atlus and Sega will have a lot on their plate at E3. Apart from unveiling "Persona 5," there will be special events and question-and-answer sessions with the team behind the upcoming JRPG that will allow fans and critics alike to discuss all things "Persona 5."

"Persona 5" is the latest installment in the "Persona" series which, in turn, is part of the larger "Megami Tensei" franchise. The hotly anticipated game combines action-based combat with supernatural themes.

On June 14, Atlus and Sega will spend the afternoon talking about the character designs and the inspiration for "Persona 5" with Soejima. On June 15, there will be an autograph signing in the morning, with the rest of the day given over to content demonstrations. On June 16, there will be another question-and-answer event. Atlus has not revealed the complete guest list for this Q&A session.

In addition, the game developer will be giving away various limited edition "Persona 5" memorabilia, including an artwork, a bag, and a Morgana hat. Morgana is the talking cat in "Persona 5."

Apart from "Persona 5," Sega and Atlus will also be showing "Yakuza 0," 7th Dragon III," "The King of Fighters XIV," "Hatsune Miku," "Sonic Boom," and "Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse" at E3.

E3 2016 runs from June 14 to 16.

"Persona 5" is due for release in Japan in September, followed by a release in North America later in the year.
