'PES 2015' online server ordered to close down in August

PES 2015 | Konami

Sad news await all fans of the football simulation game "Pro Evolution Soccer 2015." The time has arrived wherein publisher Konami has decided to terminate the game's online service.

As noted in the official announcement in Konami's website, the game will no longer be available to play online beginning August, specifically on the 25th day. This means that gamers will have to be quick in spending their myClub coins or GP before the said termination day as they will become invalid on the same day.

It may seem like sad news for everyone, but Konami is moving forward to make way for better and newer games. "PES 2015" launched back in November 2014 and they are thankful to their fans for their loyal and continued support throughout the years since the first one in the "PES" series titles.

PlayStation Lifestyle also noted that such online functionality terminations are typical in sports games. It's highly assumed that those who have played the 2015 version have already bought the "PES 2016." That is why it's only right that the old game will have to be set aside in order to focus more on newer titles with more active user bases. Moreover, the newest version, "PES 2017," has already been announced.

This could possibly mean that many "PES 2016" gamers will be moving forward as well to play the latest one. Game Spot stated in a report that "PES 2017" is expected to come with more improved visuals and gameplay. It is also said to run with Konami's Fox Engine just like the other entries and the one powering "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain."

"PES 2017" will launch this coming fall and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Fans must stay tuned to get more details on the upcoming game.
