'Pokemon Sun and Moon' news: New set of Starter Pokemon unmasked

The Pokemon Company has officially introduced the newest breed of Starter Pokemon coming to "Pokemon Sun and Moon." The new creatures have one thing in common—extreme cuteness.

The first Pokemon is a flame-breathing fire-type Pokemon named Litten. Looking like a cat, it is black in color and has two red stripes on each of its four legs. It also has red fur in a shape of a sideways letter H on its forehead.

Litten has big yellow eyes and red fur on the bottom half of its face. This "Pokemon Sun and Moon" character can both be adorable and dangerous at the same time, which means it is the perfect bundle.

The next Starter Pokemon for "Pokemon Sun and Moon" is called Rowlet, who is a grass and flying type and definitely a big ball of cuteness.

Rowlet looks like an owl, but the difference between this round-shaped Starter Pokemon and the nocturnal bird is that Rowlet can "overgrow" or rotate its head up to 180 degrees.

Last but not the least, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" also has Popplio as part of its starter roster. Popplio looks like a sea lion and is a water-type Pokemon who has mastered to its advantage the dangerous side of water balloons.

It has a long snout, black whiskers and an eye-catching pink round nose where it can snort bubbles of water from (it is part of its fighting technique). It also has a ruff around its neck and has front flippers with white markings.

This "Pokemon Sun and Moon" Starter Pokemon can dominate both land and water. On its territory, it can swim at 25 miles per hour and uses the elasticity of its bubbles for some killer acrobatic stunts.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" are set in the island of Alola. The pair of games will be released on Nov. 23, in lieu of the franchise's 20th anniversary.
