President Obama is 'more Muslim than Christian,' says Pat Boone

Christian singer and motivational speaker Pat Boone views Barack Obama as "more Muslim than Christian," and said that the United States president is more protective of the former.

On the "Steve Malzberg Show," host Steve Malzberg discussed briefly the incident at the Pulse gay club in Orlando, Florida, where 49 people were killed by lone gunman Omar Mateen who declared his allegiance with the Islamic State terror group. He asked why an FBI agent would say that the perpetrator "does not represent Islam, he represents a perverted version of Islam."

"It's the pressure from above in the administration, that's where," Boone said.

The 82-year-old singer mentioned the transcript of the 911 call made by Mateen, which was initially released with references to Allah removed or replaced. He said that the government "didn't want this version of Islam" but "it's okay to send teachers or preachers who preach the gospel to jail."

"But this president, raised a Muslim and indoctrinated by his biological father and adoptive father to think of America as a colonial oppressor and not worthy of world leadership, and he said during the campaign, 'the sweetest sound in his memory is the Muslim call to prayer,'" Boone said.

The president made this remark in 2007, two years before he became president, as reported by The New York Times. The report says he recited "with first-rate accent" the opening line of the Arabic call to prayer and then said that is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset."

"He was raised Muslim, he does make a perfunctory appearance at the presidential prayer breakfast, and he will come to a black funeral after one of these killings like Orlando, but he celebrates Ramadan in the White House," Boone said. "And he is, I'm afraid, more Muslim than Christian, and he is certainly more protective of anything relating to Islam than he is of anything relating to Christianity."

A collection of clips, titled "More Proof that Obama was Raised a Muslim & Still is a Muslim" posted in 2014 on the YouTube channel called Impeach the Socialist Obama, shows the remarks that the president made about Muslims and Islam.
