'Prison Break' season 5 spoilers: Dominic Purcell seriously injured during filming, writes heartfelt letter to thank Wentworth Miller

Dominic Purcell, who played the tough-as-nails Lincoln Burrows in the Fox serial drama "Prison Break," broke his nose in two places while filming for the upcoming revival series.
According to ComicBook.com, the accident occurred on May 31.
In an Instagram post, the "Prison Break" actor said that he had been seriously injured when an iron bar fell on his head on the set of the show's highly anticipated fifth season. The iron bar broke his nose in two places and gave him a nasty head wound which required a hundred stitches.
Luckily, Purcell said that he has made a full recovery from the injuries he sustained during the accident and that he is already back at work on the "Prison Break" revival. Production on the series was not delayed.
Following his brush with death, Purcell wrote heartfelt letters to his friend and "Prison Break" co-star Wentworth Miller, thanking the actor for his concern and for taking control of the production in Purcell's absence. The actor also thanked the doctor who took care of him after the accident.
"Can't describe my deep love and gratitude to my close friend and brother Wentworth Miller his concern for my health was his first priority," Purcell captioned an Instagram photo featuring Miller's face.
"Went is holding up the fort in my absence his leadership and care is inspirational," the actor wrote. "He's taken control taken it upon himself to push the production and lead by example. A true leader a true gentleman and the most fearless person I have ever met. Thanks bro. Love ya. Purcell and Miller are said to have formed a deep bond while they were playing brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield in "Prison Break," which ran from 2005 to 2009. Since then, the two actors have reunited to play superheroes Heatwave/Mick Rory (Purcell) and Captain Cold/Leonard Snart (Miller) on The CW's "Legends of Tomorrow."
The "Prison Break" limited event series will debut in early 2017 and will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
