'Prison Break' season 5 spoilers news 2016: New details about new character Jacob revealed

New details about the character of "Royal Pains" actor Mark Feuerstein on "Prison Break" season 5 have been revealed by show's writers via Twitter.

When Feuerstein was first announced as a cast member in "Prison Break" season 5, he was introduced as Scott Ness, Sara Tancredi's (Sarah Wayne Callies) new husband.

In the latest set of tweets by the writers of "Prison Break" season 5, he was referred to as Jacob. "Prison Break" creator and writer Paul Scheuring also called him Jacob on his Instagram post.

"The noble Jacob on set today. Too bad his middle name is Toast. (It's actually Anton)," Scheuring captioned a photo of Feuerstein as he was being prepared for the camera.

The "Prison Break" season 5 writers also recognized the change and wrote as the caption of the same photo, "Everybody's favorite new character, Jacob (formerly known as Scott)."

There was no explanation regarding the name change although the writers teased a bit more about what Feuerstein's character will play in Michael's (Wentworth Miller) in "Prison Break" season 5.

"I feel like you guys aren't gonna give Jacob a chance. It's not his fault he had to follow Michael Scofield," the writers teased in another tweet.

It is a mystery if Jacob will be a friend or a foe of Michael in "Prison Break" season 5. It is a bigger mystery why he followed him presumably to Yemen where Michael was staying when everyone believed he was dead.

Of course, fans of Michael and Sara are not loving the idea of the latter having a new husband, which is why Jacob is not a big hit with fans. However, it appears that there's more to him than just Sara's new partner.

Filming for "Prison Break" season 5 has just wrapped up. FOX teases on Facebook that "the biggest breakout is yet to come."

"Prison Break" season 5 premieres spring next year, but FOX is yet to assign a specific release date.
