There's no turning back anymore as American television serial drama "Prison Break" is returning for its fifth season. Seven years after the season 4 finale, the story of two brothers who tried to escape prison life will continue on to tell more.

Fans who followed the show can still recall that Michael Scofield, played by Wentworth Miller, was killed off in the season 4 finale. This left fans wondering how the show will move forward without him. Yet, it turns out that Michael is still alive and "Prison Break" season 5 will be telling soon how it happened. Those who want to know ahead are in luck though since Dominic Purcell, the actor who played the character Lincoln Burrows, gave away some little spoilers.

In an interview with Deadline at the U.S. launch of Bausele, the Aussie actor had a simple explanation to how Michael survived death by electrocution. He said that he just did not die. Instead, he ended up dealing with ISIS and ISA. And when he was done with the organization, they put him in jail in Yemen to make him change his mind. But he has not and now he has to face imprisonment in a country where no one knows he is still alive. Purcell also teased that the fans will love everything that the show has in store.

"Honestly, the fans are going to be blown away by this," stated Purcell. "It's really a riveting, high-tension thriller. It's an extraordinary, extraordinary show," he added.

He also described the nine-episode series as something like a cross between action movies "Bourne Identity" and "American Sniper."

Purcell actually suffered a major accident while shooting a breaking out from prison scene in Morocco, which served as a double for civil war-torn Yemen. He suffered a broken nose, deep gashes and 150 stitches. Despite that, the actor is back to work after recuperating.

"Prison Break" season 5 is slated to premiere in 2017.
