"The Real Housewives of Orange County" star Vicki Gunvalson went under fire from fans last week after a previous episode of the Bravo reality series showed that she let her (supposedly recovering) daughter Briana drive the car on their way to Southern California.

As Headlines & Global News noted, viewers were shocked when they saw Briana in the driver's seat and criticized Vicki for her supposed lack of concern. Briana had not been well for a while since she had not recovered from a leg infection that she caught when undergoing recent surgery. Vicki though said that she let Briana drive because Briana gets serious car sickness when she is in the passenger seat. Vicki also assured fans that she did not let Briana drive the whole way to South Carolina, and that they took turns in driving the car so that Briana could take frequent breaks.

Vicki also stated that the main reason she's moving her family from Oklahoma to South Carolina is because Briana could rest better there. Also, Briana would be able to access better medical aid and treatment as compared to the facilities in Oklahoma.

Back in 2012, Briana underwent her first surgical procedure to remove enlarged lymph nodes. After continuous surgery to remove them, Vicki had been fearing that the nodes are cancerous, but thankfully, they are not.

Despite the backlash, Vicki reportedly thanked her fans for being concerned about her daughter and asked them to keep her in their thoughts and prayers. In the meantime, she looks forward to being with her daughter and grandchildren. According to International Business Times, Vicki has been having a hard time reconciling with her co-stars after her involvement with Brook Ayers' cancer scandal, so a little downtime with loved ones may be all that she needs.

"The Real Housewives of Orange County" season 11 is currently airing on Bravo, and viewers can catch the show every Monday.
