Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix recently released a new trailer video of the upcoming DLC titled "Blood Ties," which is included on the "Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" PlayStation disc. It gave fans a sneak peek of what's coming, particularly, the new spooky adventure that protagonist Lara Croft will be going through.

As seen in the video, the update will be set in the Croft Manor which is depicted to be quite old to the point of almost falling apart. Despite this, Lara's uncle is trying to take ownership of the manor where Lara grew up in and where she made fond memories with her family.

Lara will start exploring the place, and as nostalgia hits her, she will also discover secrets and mysteries that her father kept from her. Most of these discoveries will lead Lara to find out some things about her family's history.

The "Blood Ties" DLC will also feature the exciting Lara's Nightmare mode which lives up to its title as the heroine will find herself caught in a battle with her inner demons. As narrated in the trailer, the manor will be haunted, and that's when Lara will be facing off with terrifying zombies. Fans have nothing to worry about, though, as even in her dreams she will be heavily armed.

The new mode is expected to have a bloody and monster-packed gameplay, so fans should watch out for it. Moreover, the DLC is also reported to debut an expanded Endurance Mode. The game is no longer limited to being a survival-oriented challenge for solo players as it will now support online co-op. With this, players will be able to team up and go through the deadly catacombs together.

There will also be an Extreme Survivor difficulty setting, which is created to get rid of the several checkpoints featured in the game's single-player story mode. Additionally, a collection of five new character skins inspired by Lara Croft's past adventures will be included.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration" with the "Blood Ties" DLC will be released on PlayStation 4 on Oct. 11.
